June & July 2020 - Updates on Which U.S. Embassies Are Open & Scheduling Interviews

Hey, Immigration Fam!! Giving you the lay of the land here. If you’re consular processing through Paris or Frankfurt, you’re in luck! Those embassies have reopened & interviews have commenced.

Please note, I am just the messenger in all of this! I do not make the rules, nor do I have insider knowledge on when the next wave of embassies will open up. Let’s all just use this info to make educated guesses & informed decisions on what to expect next.

London, UK - open for interviews July 7th & on

Stockholm, Sweden - allowing medical exams, expected july interviews coming soon

Oslo, Norway - allowing medical exams, expected july interviews coming soon

Frankfurt, Germany - interviews are being scheduled & people are being approved!

Islamabad, Pakistan - website says they’re scheduling interviews July 7th & on… & have since been cancelled for many

Bangladesh - accepting & approving expedite requests, but so far no interviews

Brazil - some July interviews have been cancelled

Cairo, Egypt - some July interviews have been cancelled

Paris, France - interviews are being scheduled for end of June!

Jamaica Embassy - as of June 18th, they are scheduling end of June interviews

Islamabad, Pakistan - as of June 18th & 19th - interviews have been rescheduled for July! (so far, without further cancellations)

More from Paris, France - as of June 23rd, more confirmations that Parisians will get their interview

Phillipines - As of June 30th, all Visa appointments cancelled through at least July 31st

Kingston, Jamaica - as of July 1st, interviews in Kingston Jamaica have resumed! #jamaicajamaicaaaa

Tirana, Albania - ohh bless the home country even though we aren’t processing through this embassy! As of July 1st, the embassy in Tirana is emailing to issue out interviews!

Guangzhou, China - If you were DQ’d in August, good news for you, they are starting to schedule appointments for August 2020!

Poland - an. update from July 6th - interviews are being attended in Poland!

Vietnam - more from Asia! Vietnam is not only accepting expedites, but they are open for interviews! One person has Visa in hand as of July 1st (and DQ’d only the month prior in June) I am jealous! This embassy reopened on June 29th, 2020. You can find their reopening notice on their website.

Japan - as of July 7th, the embassy in Japan is open for accepting (and approving) expedite requests.

Accra, Ghana - as of July 9th, the embassy in Ghana is suspending reopening and interviews have been cancelled.

Ankara, Turkey - as of July 9th, people have been notified for end of July interviews in Turkey!

New Zealand - as of July 10th, it’s confirmed New Zealand is accepting expedite requests (and for financial hardship!) as of july 16th, interviews as well!

Sydney, Australia - as of July 10th! Expedite requests Down Under are confirmed being approved. Emergency interviews are being conducted as well

Seoul, Korea - Apparently they’ve been handing out CR-1 Visas since June 5th! With more interview appointments just pouring in.

I’m sure you all by now have seen the updates from the Department of State on both #Facebook & #Twitter announcing a slow phasing in of consular activity. Please continue to monitor your local embassy & the #covid19 situation on the ground.

Bangkok, Thailand - as of July 13th mentioned it was understaffed so interviews may be delayed.

Nassau, Bahamas - Accepting expedite requests to interview, and the interviews seem soon-ish!

Buenos Aires, Argentina - Good news from Latin America! As of July 15th, end of August interviews are being scheduled.

Amsterdam, Netherlands - as of July 14th, interviews are being scheduled for end of August!

Cairo, Egypt - as of July 14h, the embassy in Cairo mentioned being closed until end of September.

Romania, Bucharest - Visas being approved & issued in July at this embassy!

Athens, Greece - As of mid-July, interviews are being scheduled for early August in Greece!

Tunisia - Interviews scheduled for August!

Manila, Philippines - Looks like this embassy is back up & running. July interviews are now being scheduled, a reschedule from earlier this year!
